We use stevia to sweeten the flavors without sugar. We use a specific form of stevia (called RebD and RebM) that removes some of the bitter taste that some people find with old forms of stevia.

Acacia Gum

Turning a liquid flavor into a powder requires a binder. While nearly all other electrolytes use maltodextrin (and don’t share that fact unless you call and ask), we absolutely REFUSE to use it, not even a trace. Instead, we use acacia gum. It works as well, without the spike in blood sugar, gut issues, or being made from GMOs. It also lets fats mix with water. It’s extremely cool stuff. you can read more about here.

We use malic acid as a preservative and emulsifier. Many other products use citric acid instead, (and unfortunately don’t share that on their packaging) but due to controversy about certain kinds of citric acid being produced using black mold, we chose malic acid to avoid that issue altogether, and we also find that it works better in our formula, anyway!

I love SALTT. I love most of the fruity flavors, the chocolate flavored, and SALTT products like the drops. The plain flavor is really salty but it is great addef to other drinks. I like bringing it to restaurants and adding it to other drinks so i know that i am getting my electrolytes and still enjoying the soda or mocktail. Love that i can take it with me everywhere.

While electrolytes are a dime a dozen these days, they’re still pricey for what they are. Exponential y more expensive than taking sea salt, potassium, and magnesium. The real question here is why is there an aversion to actual cane sugar or non gmo dextrose? Stevia and monkfruit offer no benefit to blood and brain, not to mention it’s quicker to absorb through sugar or dextrose. It also fuels muscles, and yes your brain. Would score higher if it wasn’t using herb sweeteners. Decent flavors, but still tastes like candy or fragrance of sort. Whether it’s in there or not.

I finally decided to try the SALTT electrolytes from Keto Chow. I had been using XXXX brand and while it was good, they did contain some ingredients that were affecting my blood glucose negatively. These SALTT electrolytes are delicious, easily dissolves right in my ice water, and just the right amount of salty/sweet taste. Minimal rise in glucose. I got a Cocoa pack and a variety pack and so far the Caramel and Cherry are my favorites. I am slowly testing each flavor against my blood glucose results compared to the other company. Will buy again.

I saved the cocoa flavor for last because I’m not a chocolate person and chocolate flavored water didn’t sound appealing. But it too is also great. It’s like a woohoo. When I was diagnosed with metastatic Breast Cancer last year, I learned it might be possible to control it with a Keto diet. So far, so good! But, I also learned that electrolytes are very important on Keto. Enter SALTT. When I first tried SALTT, I got the Ultra Variety pack. I wasn't too crazy about any of the flavors except the chocolate ones. (More, please?) I kept hearing how good the new Cherry Chill flavor was. And the Mondo Melon. Since my daughter likes most of the fruit flavors, I ordered the Fruit Variety along with my usual Cocoa Variety. As soon as it arrived, I tried the Cherry Chill. So good! Tastes just like a Cherry Icee! I wasn't as crazy about the Mondo Melon but I'm not a huge fan of watermelon flavored anything except watermelon itself! And I like it salted. However, it is certainly drinkable which I didn't find some of the other fruit flavors to be. If you can improve the other fruit flavors that much, I might do more variety! For now, I'll definitely be ordering more Cherry Chill along with the Cocoa Variety. Oh, I thought it might be interesting to try combining the Cherry Chill with Cocoa Loco. The Cherry was too overpowering and had a bit of a twang to it that I didn't care for. I'll stick to drinking them separately! One other thing. Every time I see my oncologist, I have to have blood work done. She always comments that my electrolytes are perfect! Yay! Thank you, SALTT!

I got to say we love the chocolate and chocolate Carmel!!! I use it in my cold brew coffee, add heavy cream and put I into my magic bullet blender. What a great treat with that frothy creamy top. Best ever

I was looking for a way to increase my electrolytes that included magnesium. The Groovy Grapefruit is amazing!! I grew up eating grapefruit with salt on it and this tastes exactly like that. Brings me fond memories of breakfast with my mom and Dad.

FAQ

Will electrolytes break a fast?
Our unsweetened and unflavored electrolyte options do not break a fast. The flavored electrolytes from SALTT by Keto Chow do contain 2 or 3 calories per serving. This is few enough that it should not break a fast, but if your preference is too avoid any calories during your intermittent fasting, you will want to select one of the unsweetened and unflavored options.
What is magnesium? Why does it matter?
Magnesium is a mineral, just like potassium and sodium, but it’s one that we tend to hear less about. It’s also a bit more difficult to find large amounts, at least in foods that most of us regularly eat. It plays an important role in helping you fall and stay asleep, and is also responsible for helping your muscles contract and relax.
Do I need to have food with my electrolytes?
We do recommend taking the unsweetened and unflavored electrolyte options with a meal, but some people find it is not needed.
How much should I use in a day?
Start with one serving, and see how you feel! If you’re especially active, or if it’s particularly hot outside, you’re likely to benefit from an additional serving or two.
